XFM.
Xfm was created in London in 1992 by Sammy Jacob, who later co-founded NME Radio in 2008. Xfm plays just one genre of music, which primarily indie pop. Unlike the BBC, Xfm do not have a television license fee so they do broadcast adverts in order to fund the show. Xfm is a brand of two commercial radio stations, one based in Manchester and the other based in London. Xfm London has been broadcasting on 104.9 FM, and has been full time since 1997. Xfm Manchester wasn't launched until the 15th of March 2006. The slogan for Xfm is 'Music that rocks'. The genre of music they play is indie pop but also play rock music too which is why I think the slogan is quite clever. I do like listening to Xfm because of the music they play, even though its just one genre of music, there are so many different song that they play, and its not repetitive like some radio shows are. The average target audience for this radio podcast i would say are the ages between 16 - 35+ because, as well as playing recent music, they play older music from this decade which i know the older people grew up too. Xfm isn't the most popular radio station in the country however i think it is one of the best.
