Analysing radio shows
BBC Radio 1 first aired on the 30th September 1967, (the same date BBC radio 2 first aired).
BBC radio 1 is a radio show that plays the latest popular music, it provides different genres after 7:00 pm, including electronic dance, hip hop, rock or interviews with different artists. The target audience is between the ages 15 and 29. There are two different types of DJ's, day and night DJ's. 'Day' DJs play music generally orientated around the Radio 1 Playlist , 'Night' DJs play more eclectic and specialised 'New Music'.
BBC 1 Radio breakfast is presented by someone called Nick Grimshaw, for the hours of 6:30 in the morning till 10:00am on weekdays. In my opinion I think this would be the most popular show to listen to as a lot of people will be in their car on their way to work at this time and the majority of people only listen to radio when they g in their car, and because it is one of the most busiest times of the day. BBC radio 1 Breakfast consists of traffic news, popular music and other Features including Call or Delete – a game carried on from his previous show on Radio 1, featuring celebrity guests choosing to either call a random contact on their phone or delete their number altogether. Other features include Wheel of 4 Tunes, Showquizness, occasionally featuring a rude robot known as the Showbot, and The Nixtape – a full hour of older songs, mostly from the 2000s, on Friday mornings.
There are lots of presenters on BBC radio 1, and they all come on at different times, for example straight after Nick Grimshaw, Fearne Cotton presents from 10:00am till 13:00pm in the afternoon. However i think the most popular would be the bbd radio 1 breakfast show, and also around the time 17:00pm , as 'rush hour' hits and lots of people will be listening to radio 1 with Greg James. As again it it one of the most busiest times of the day.
